"The Rainbow Connection" werd geschreven voor de "The Muppet Movie" en genomineerd voor een Academy Award als het beste lied in 1979. Het werd gezongen door Kermit als openingsnummer van de film en nog eens hernomen door de hele Muppetscast aan het eind ervan.
De single bereikte de 25ste plaats op de "Hot 100 Singles" hitparade in 1979.
